To the land of smiles, cheap shopping & tom yum kung!

Happy Lunar New Year!

Before I do post on CNY, just allow me to do a backtrack of January.

Went for a short trip to Bangkok 2 weeks ago.

Almost missed my fight cause my buddy insisted on a smoke break at 3.15pm when our flight was at 3.35pm. Gate closes 15mins before, am I wrong?

Upon reaching BKK, Buddy&Wife insisted that a girl shouldn't be staying alone. Hence, I forfeited a night of hotel & went over to their lovely pad.

We headed to a seafood place nearby which was very popular amongst the locals there. Although, I'm never a seafood person, it was still a very good touch-down meal! (:

On our way back to their place, this elephant here started stomping towards me after I took a flash picture of it. You should've seen how I was running away from it & my 2 lovely hosts was standing by the roadside laughing at me.

We headed to meet Johnnie Walker @ Route66. Good music, good crowd, cheap drinks.

Started day 2 with Japanese Buffet at Oishi Restaurant! There was wayy too much for me to choose from & all I could think about was shopping, so I just had to chopchop through this meal. Otherwise it would have definitely been more enjoyable.

Buying some cricket-looking food from a road side stall outside Chatuchak. And no, I didn't try.

That night was my host's friend's birthday. It started off as a pot-luck house party with lots of authentic thai food & alcohol. When the alcohol ran low, we headed over to SugarBeet for some KTV!

The gorgeous birthday girl!

I spent day 3 trying to finish my shopping spree which seemed never ending. There would never be enough shoes/bags/dresses, am I wrong again?

This is the corridor of the apartment I was staying in for 3 days. Doesn't it remind you of some Thai horror movie... Never ending & badly lit corridors... FYI, this was taken in the day, you should see it in the night.

Nonetheless, I had an enjoyable short getaway to my favorite country - Land of Smiles. Forgetting how the spicy food always make my stomach churn. Will definitely be looking for a trip back there soon. I still have a 1/2 bottle of Johnnie Walker at Route66!

Before the short getaway, I attended my first Malay wedding. Finally met up with some of my long-lost secondary school mates. My friend's wedding was 3 days long! First night was the solemnization, followed by friends & third night for their relatives. Umm... Luckily Chinese weddings usually last 1 night, cause I doubt I would have that many people to invite during my wedding... Lets do a count on how many friends I'll be inviting: Hazel, Elle, Wendie, Glenn, Hazel Elle Wendie Glenn... ... ...

Back to the gambling dens,
Gong Xi Fa Cai!
Fio.
