Dear Diary,
I wish I could blog with lots of pictures about the short getaway like some travel guide. But alas, I went on a holiday with a camera that was on a dying battery before I even left the country! Pissed off at myself for having to fork out for an overpriced underwater disposable camera which takes lousy fuzzy pictures. And having to live with a VGA camera phone.
Putting the camera ordeal aside, despite no pristine white sandy beaches & clear blue sea. I still enjoyed myself. Now, I'm considering a switch of career, perhaps to the selling ice kachang along the jetty which opens only from 12pm - 5pm. Or a bartender over at that small little beach bar. Tioman is a duty-free island, beer is almost as cheap as a can of coke. So why drink coke when you can be an alcoholic?
I would (and did) live my day there, waking up at 8am to the greetings of the monkeys at my window. Then having a hearty breakfast of many scrambled egg, watch the only available TV channel which plays CNN in the morning. After which, go out to one of the neighbouring island to bask under the sun, read some magazines or simply feed the fishes and go swimming. Return later in the day for some ice cold Chendol & authentic Malaysian Ramly burger. Then you know, bum around more or watch the only available TV channel which plays HBO in the evening. Or watch the tide go low and see the sun go down. Have cheap seafood dinner + some Heineken.
See, I could definitely lead the simple laidback lifestyle of a beach bummer!
Will be looking forward to taking up my diving license soon... Been procrastinating for way too long.. Soon, soon.. Yes..
